Under the latest legislation, effective from February 7th, 2024, a 12% transfer tax will be enforced on all purchase transactions in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, regardless of the registration date of the sales contract at the District Lands Office. The exemption previously granted to those whose contracts were registered before February 10th, 2023, allowing them to pay the transfer fee at the 2022 rate, has been revoked.
